Jeffree Star Gives Back to the LGBTQ Community
If you are a girl who loves a blinding highlight like me, you surely have heard of the Queen of Highlighters, Jeffree Star. If not...bish where have you been!? While Jeffree is well known within the make up community, he actually gained his popularity years ago within music, but made his way onto the beauty scene not too long ago by launching his own cosmetics line, Jeffree Star Cosmetics. His highlighters and liquid lipsticks have become a staple in any girls make up bag - and rightfully so! He is insanely talented and while he does have his own brand, he maintains a YouTube page where he puts out lots of content from reviewing new products from other brands to creating unique looks and giving step by step tutorials. Personally, I have learned a ton about the art of make up from Jeffree and what I love most about him is how real he keeps it. He does not do discount codes nor does he ever get paid to do product reviews or give his opinions on brands. All of his opinions are authentic and not biased, which is hard to come by nowadays. But, never say never...
Recently, Jouer Cosmetics sent a bunch of beauty influencers on a tropical getaway to St. Tropez in order to promote their new Skinny Dip collection. I was of course stalking Jeffree's SnapChat to get the inside scoop on the trip and live vicariously through him and lawddd did it look amazing. Jeffree has always been a fan of Jouer as they are a more indie brand that is not yet sold in any large beauty retailers like Sephora or Ulta and relies heavily on online sales through their website. While on the trip, Jeffree was asking fans if they would want a Jeffree Star Jouer discount code and of course the fans gave a unanimous "YAS QUEEN, WE WANT A CODE". Well, as a man of his word, Jeffree delivered. He announced shortly after that he was releasing his first ever affiliate code with Jouer that would give shoppers 15% off their purchase. Now usually vloggers or social media stars use these codes in order to earn commission from brands, which is a controversial topic for sure that we won't get in to. But, Jeffree decided to take that money that was earned from his code and give back to the Los Angeles LGBT Center. He states in his recently released YouTube "May Holy Grails and Fails" video of his decision to donate 100% of the money to the Center and will be surprising them with a nice big check!
It's so refreshing to see someone like Jeffree Star giving back and supporting a cause like the Los Angeles LGBT Center that he holds near and dear to his heart. Especially in the world we are living in right now, we all should be banding together and donating in any way we can to help out those in need.
