How long have you been friends for?
Sarah: 9 years!
How did you first meet?
Sarah: We were rushing the same sorority in college, I believe we introduced ourselves to each other in the student center getting food.
What's one of your favorite memories together?
Sarah: When we lived together in college, one of our roommates got a large package delivered that came in a box filled with packing peanuts. We thought it would be hilarious to jump and play in the box and get the peanuts all over the floor. I think we made our other roommates clean it up too haha!
Diana: The peanut story is a classic, our friend who got the package is still annoyed by it but one of my favorite memories is when New York was hit with a huge snow storm. We thought it would be a great idea to go to boozy brunch (because who wouldn’t?), go “food shopping” (alcohol, cheese, crackers, olives), and continue the party at our apartment. It wound up being one of the funniest nights.
Have you ever fought about something? If so what? How did it resolve?
Sarah: We fight like sisters over little things here and there, which is something I think we both secretly like because we're both only children! Most recently it was about how I don't scrub my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. We're both good about telling the other when something's bothering us so we can work through it.
Diana: I’m going to have to second Sarah’s answer! We definitely argue like siblings!
What's your favorite thing about the other?
Sarah: Diana is the life of the party and so generous to all of the people she loves. She's the backbone to our group of friends and life would be incomplete without her.
Diana: Sarah is always looking to see the good in situations and people. If I’m stressed or upset and complaining, Sarah’s really good at forcing me to look at things from another perspective. She has the ability to ground people in a way that not many can. Additionally, she’s really good at making people feel better- she’s helped me through some of the most difficult moments of my life.
What's one thing of theirs you've had for forever? How long have you had it for?
Sarah: Well, years ago before we were roommates I borrowed Diana's super long phone charger and to this day refuse to give it back.
Diana: I don’t remember how long ago this was but for my birthday a few years ago Sarah bought me this small, lilac pillow from Union Square that says “Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.” I still keep it in my night table drawer as a reminder of how lucky I am to have some of the most amazing friends.
